7 April 2009 In trying to make a spinner, when I click on the template to insert the pictures, the picture only fill out approximately 1/2 of the allotted length ipo the whole 1 1/2" L. If I try to adjust the length, the picture is distorted. Any suggestion? — Anne
Double clicking on the bounding box to insert a picture does not work very well. I use the bounding box as a pattern 1. Insert and crop the picture 2. Size it with the corner handles and move it over the bounding box trying to make it the same as the box Hope this helps, Margie

26 March 2009 I discovered that I included too many photos on each page so they are too small. I made 20 pages. Now I would like to edit these pages, using the same photos but enlarging them and moving some of them to new pages. How do I move the present photos/graphics to the extra pages? Thank you for your help.— Donna
To move: Select what you want to move. If it is more than one object (Picture, Shape, Embellishment, etc) hold down the shift key to add to the selection Click the Cut icon on the Standard Toolbar (icon looks likes scissors) Go to the page where you want the selected object moved Click the Paste icon on the Standard Toolbar You can copy and/or move selected objects from one page to another page in the same workbook OR You can copy and/or move selected objects from one scrapbook to another scrapbook Hope this helps, Margie

9 March 2009 I went to the Digital Scrapbooking Expo last week and was very excited about what I saw there. I have always done paper scrapbooking, but this looks like it might be easier. I had purchased Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0 awhile back, but hadn't done anything with it. I need someone to walk me through making a page. Is there anyone who can help me? I would appreciate any suggestions that you would have. —Eleanor Lou Leonard contacted Eleanor, went to her home two times and helped her complete her scrapbook page. Eleanor was very appreciative for the help she received from Lou. Thanks Lou |

2 February 2009 Margie, I'm having difficulty inserting a "graphic" from "file" and making it fit an 8 X 11 1/2" page without using the center "handles" which distort the graphic. I use the corners of the "bounding box" to increase the size width wise and length wise to a certain extent, but can't get the picture to fit the whole page length wise without using the center "handles". What am I doing incorrectly? Thank you for your assistance. — Anne
Thanks for sending your page so I can see your problem. Here is my suggestion. Crop your picture more from each side so when you place your cropped picture on the page, you can use the corner handles to increase the height more. |

23 April 2008 Can I make a scrapbook 8 x 8? If so, how? —Janet
Yes, you can make scrapbook pages of any size using Scrapbook Factory. Just open the program and click on starting a page from scratch. Choose one of the blank pages, then go to file—page setup. On the top section, under Dimensions, change the height and width to 8 inches. You can change the height and width to any size you want, to fit whatever scrapbook size you want. I’ve even made 6 x 6 pages! Hope that helps!—Annemarie |

23 April 2008 I am in the process of scanning old photos (black & white) onto my computer. I have been scanning them into my desktop in a JPEG file. At a recent Genealogy meeting I had a conversation with a gentlemen who indicated this was nota good idea because I could lose part of my photos integrity using jpeg. He thought a TIFF file better. I mentioned I also have access to Photoshop Elements 6, he thought that was better yet. When scanning old photos into my computer, what file should they be saved to? JPEG, TIFF or PSD (Photoshop).—Diane
You should use TIFF or PSD if you are going to use Photoshop for photo editing. Here is a brief explanation of image compression. The purpose of image compression is to represent images with less data in order to save storage costs or transmission time. Without compression, file size is significantly larger, usually several megabytes, but with compression it is possible to reduce file size to 10 percent from the original without noticeable loss in quality. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) files use no compression at all and can be edited and resaved without suffering a compression loss. JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a commonly used method of compression for photographic images. PSD (Photoshop Document) is a standard format for graphics professionals. Hope this answers your question—Margie |

17 April 2008 I went to the April 1st club meeting at Mulberry. I hadn’t as yet downloaded the Scrapbook Factory 4.0 because I had to send for the CD version as I don’t have a DVD drive on my computer. I finally received the (7) CD’s. I downloaded the program, however, it did not ask me to insert disc 6 or 7. All it asked for was discs 1 through 5. What do I do with the other 2 discs? These are the graphics. I need to know if the club meetings teach newcomers how to really be able to use this great system. I would appreciate it if you could advise me what to do—Janet
Disks 6 & 7 are extra graphics and are not a part of the installation. You have plenty to keep you busy without using the extra graphics on disks 6 & 7. On may 20 at Lake Miona strating at 9:00 a.m. one of our members, Vern Braumruk, will demonstrate how to create a simple page. This should helpyou get started. There is a tutorial with the program which should also help you. We are glad to have you as a member and we want to help you enjoy this wonderful hobby hobby—Margie |

17 April 2008 Someone at the last Pimlico meeting wanted information on scrapping using Photoshop Elements. I think Linda Sattgast’s site (www.scrappersguide.com) has a lot of hints, projects and videos all utilizing Photoshop—Jim |
